What happened to the 3D?

I've had a few people ask me, either offline or through notes here, why am I not doing 3D art anymore, why I'm focusing on photography.
I still do my rendered art, but I'm not really satisfied with how they looks.
That's not to say that I'm giving up completely on my 3D art, but more to say that I want to take a more balanced approach to it. Looking back at my renders, I seemed to focus more on the artistic portion of it with little technical or compositional value, or I would focus on the technical value of some new feature that I just discovered at the time with little though to the art of composition.
